I read some where that pot does less damage to your brain than alcohol. And, if they made pot legal, wouldn't companies be able to sell pot putting out the businesses of drug dealers dealing pot?Is it true that pot does less damage to you than alcohol? If true, should pot become legal in America?
Your exactly right, if legalized the price would plummet. Gangs and dealers would close up shop and move to the next illegal substance. Is it true that pot does less damage to you than alcohol? If true, should pot become legal in America?
marijuana is much better than alcohol. for your body, for you mind, for your soul.
marijuana is harmless and should be legal everywhere. alcohol is responsible for more deaths per year than most illegal drugs combined, yet for some reason it is legal and weed isn't. there have been no recorded fatalities blamed on marijuana. it's entirely safe, all natural, and something that is a personal choice and what a person does in their spare time should be their own business.
tell me why my five ft tall girlfriend had to be taken to jail for possession of half a gram of marijuana while my six one 230lbs redneck friend merely got a two hundred dollar ticket for minor in consumption at a party?
the government is ******* retarded. that is why.
Any and all neurological side effects caused by marijuana use are completely reversible; just ask Dr. Drew Pinsky the famous addiction specialist that is always on TV and the radio, and really knows his stuff.
Marijuana is completely non-toxic. No matter how much you smoke you will not die or need to go to the hospital!

Is half-true true enough for many general statements?
It's way better than half false? Is half-true true enough for many general statements?
Just what half truth are we talking about?
It really depends on how important you think what you have to say is, would be my guess. If you ever plan on amounting to more than a bag of wind, you need to practice being honest and honesty is not made from half-true statements.
You want some examples? Listen to Rush Limbaugh. He is famous for providing half-truths. Only talking about ideas that support his positions on things. A very dishonest man.Is half-true true enough for many general statements?
Nope. Never.
Is having only half the answer good enough to pass your course?
I say only
guess it all depends if you're sitting
on the left or the right of the judge
yes and noloan

Is it true or not true that masturbation is self abuse?
several years ago i was reading a book and i came across that piece of information that back in the victorian era in England when queen victoria was the queen of England that people had that belief about masturbation and i want to know the truth about that because that question has a direct correlation to me and my life.Is it true or not true that masturbation is self abuse?
Yep that's what they thought in Victorian England. Doesn't mean it's true. Nowadays we have more knowledge of psychology, physiology and human sexuality and masturbation is now recognised as a normal and healthy activity.
Ironically, the machines that were invented in Victorian England to cure women of masturbation are just huge vibrators that lead women to 'hysterical paroxysm' - or orgasm. Doctors used a technique called 'pelvic massage' on such women too - basically, fingering. Is it true or not true that masturbation is self abuse?
the books you have been reading is what they believed to be true in the Victorian Era in England and at that time they truly thought it to be true but we have come along way since then and now medical research has showed that masturbation does more good than harm because it releases a hormone that relaxes us makes us feel good and their is no evidence to show in this day %26amp; age that it does us any harm whatsoever No its not true with regards Angela
What the...
How is masturbation self abuse in the slightest?
If it makes you feel good and you enjoy it, then no, of course it's not abuse.. How did you come to that conclusion?.
Hmm.. Victorian era? I wasn't aware we were from there?
Start reading up on information that's more recent and logical.
Good Luck.
No of course not! There's a reason why that information you got pertains to the Victorian age, and belongs there only. It's outdated and ignorant. Back then it was a sin and remember there were even beliefs that it could make you go blind.
False. Masturbation is not harmful to you. In fact oral sex is a for of mastrubation.
It is referred to as ';Self Gratification'; not Self Abuse.
It can be .Look at how David Carradine died.
It leads to too much fantasizing and makes it harder for people to have a real relationship in real life.

Has anyone head of innate bisexuality theory? is there any chance its true? What is the true?
nature of sexuality? why are some people gay and some straight and some bisexual? This always interested me. Is it a biological difference? in the genes? I believe it has to be in the genes or something coz a kid can have the same kind of enviroment and one turns out gay and one doesn't, something innate in them from the get-go makes them respond to the enviroment in a certain way. Is the human mind so complex that it can be subjunctive.make you feel or think or say things that it is aware exists. from time to time whereas your very core is a certain way. Does anyone have any idea how the mind works?Has anyone head of innate bisexuality theory? is there any chance its true? What is the true?
Yes! your thoughts are somewhat nearer to the actual truth and core of the matter!!!
But since till now no accurate reasoning basing on facts and figures are really available, we cannot conclude for sure what is what and why is it this and that!!!!
Some say it is depending on the Testosterone amount and the opposite ( estrogen) quantity!!! Whatever it is I know people who feel that they live a wrong life being a GIRL or a BOY, just because they possess the Male genital organs as well as the Female genital organs but can't be free from the thought that they are not at all Male or Female, just because they have their physical organs but mentally they are the opposite sex and so they are not able to enjoy their sex at all!!!!Has anyone head of innate bisexuality theory? is there any chance its true? What is the true?
Doubt it very much. If it were true, most societies ought to have most people in them be practicing bisexuals. Instead, they're a tiny minority of humanity.

Suppose an argument has a conclusion that you believe to be true. how many of the followin is true?
Suppose an argument has a conclusion that you believe to be true. List all of the following that are definitely true of each and every such argument.
A. If you believe that the argument is valid, then you should believe that at least one of its premises is true
B. It is well-formed
C.The argument is strong for you.
D.If it is ill-formed, then it has true premises.
E.If it is ill-formed, then it has false premises.
F.If it is ill-formed, it is invalid.
G.If you believe at least one of its premises is false, you should think it is invalid
H.None of the above.Suppose an argument has a conclusion that you believe to be true. how many of the followin is true?
A, C, GSuppose an argument has a conclusion that you believe to be true. how many of the followin is true?
Well your bold question and your stated question are sorta different. One says if you believe the conclusion is true...in which case I'd answer A. But then A says that you believe the whole argument to be valid..which isn't necessarily the case. I can agree with someone's conclussion but see that their argument is all wrong. Usually they have at least one point that is strong though. So...Either A or H.
Also, you can AGREE with anything. LOL...there aren't any rules to that.
The wording of the question asks for your opinion of your own reasoning skills (by basing your acceptance of the conclusion on ';belief'; rather than logic), so there is no correct or incorrect answer. :-)
None of these statements is true of every argument. Each situation has its own dynamic that cannot be covered by a blanket statement such as 'always true'. There are some that are more likely to be true at certain times than others. Choices D, F and G are totally untrue in my estimation.
I like F and G. But if one is going to be picky, one must distinguish whether you are really talking about the argument being true, or just whether the conclusion is true; these are not at all the same thing.

The saying Why do good girls like bad boys is it true cause if that's true?
is this saying the same bad girls like good boys. can you explain that to me both saying. I dont know if a second one a saying but it must be true also. The saying Why do good girls like bad boys is it true cause if that's true?
Well it's true to a certain extent. Yes some ';good girls'; do like some ';bad boys';, but it doesn't mean all ';good girls'; like ';bad boys';. It's just another stereotype based on some truth.

What is the difference between believing something to be true in your heart and just wanting it to be true?
In response to one of my answers, the asker said that I didn't seem to understand the difference between the wisdom of the heart and emotional desire. Perhaps he was right. So could someone clue me in as to what the difference is? Is believing something in your heart the same as wanting it to be true? Seems so to me.What is the difference between believing something to be true in your heart and just wanting it to be true?
If you truly believe something to be true in your heart, you will feel calm and grounded about it. Conversely, if you are just wanting it to be true, you may feel unsure or anxious. This anxious feeling could be your natural instinct telling you that although you want it to be true, it really isn't. Listen to yourself, trust in those little 'butterflies' we get in our tummies. They will be your best guide. What is the difference between believing something to be true in your heart and just wanting it to be true?
Wanting, wishing and hoping are just that. These are inactive and uncreative states. Now, belief is usually based on knowledge.
You will have to examine each incidence in your experience.
I know, this is not a great answer, leaving you with your questioning. You would have to have a single example instead of this whole universe of possibilities. Example: Do you believe in God? The answer to that one is having faith, and that is sufficient.
i dont think there is any difference...things are true or not...
Well, I think the heart one is more like you accept it as fact. It would be irrefutable to you. However, wanting something to be true is only a desire where you know it's not true or could not be true.
There often isn't really much difference. Belief is often just wishful thinking.
There is a difference, but it is hard to express. I very much want there to be a slice of pie in my fridge, but I don't beleive there is becasue I know better. In the other direction, I beleive that I am broke, even though I really want to be wealthy.
From you Heart is to 'know'.
Wanting it to be true is from your 'ego'
