What is true of the maximum possible efficiency of a heat engine?

A. It is 100%.

B. It depends on the difference between the exhaust and intake temperatures.

C. It depends on the ratio between the exhaust and intake temperatures.

D. It depends on the intake temperature. What is true of the maximum possible efficiency of a heat engine?
A heat engine can never be 100% efficent. The equation for efficiency is 1-Tl/Th

Or Th-Tl/Th

Tl= Temp low

Th=Temp high

Hope this gives you enough information to make the right decision. What is true of the maximum possible efficiency of a heat engine?
It's not A, as that would violate the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Assuming it's a simple engine, it's probably C, but don't quote me on that. My undergrad thermo is a bit rusty.

Is it true it true for Eryctile dysfunction the best method of treatment is shot to the penis that gets it up?

It depends on many other thingsIs it true it true for Eryctile dysfunction the best method of treatment is shot to the penis that gets it up?
It's all in the mind, it's all in the mind. If a person's losing an erection it's because they're trying too hard or their mind is some where else. Just relax, enjoy the moment, take your time and have an understanding, patient partner. And besides there are numerous products, orally or topically, that can help that problem.

Is it true that cut onions absorb dirt and hence, should not be kept for long?

Some people say eating onions cut even an hour ago and left in the open can make you sick. Is this correct? Is it true that cut onions absorb dirt and hence, should not be kept for long?
Onions don't ';absorb dirt';. However, they have a relatively high sugar content, and so attract microbes at a higher rate than some other foods. Some of those microbes could make you ill if they have multiplied to sufficient quantity (unlikely in as short as an hour, but theoretically possible under the right mix of circumstances). The way to avoid this is to cover the cut surface of the leftover onion as soon as possible to keep the microbes out. Refrigeration also helps. The handling of onions is no different than any other safe-food-handling practice. Is it true that cut onions absorb dirt and hence, should not be kept for long?
If it was securely covered after being cut (put in a sandwich bag with almost no air trapped in it, covered with plastic wrap, etc.) and refrigerated, an onion is safe to eat *days* later. We do this all the time.
What?Absorb dirt....who have you been listening to....some bad advice.

But,yes after cutting, cover and place in frig.up to approx.5 days.
any cut fruit/vegetable left uncovered for a longer time should not b eaten
No its not true. Its best to store them, but it wont make you sick even the next day
not that i no of. ive never heard that before

Is it true that Charmin toilet roll can block your toilet?

Has it happened to anyone? I've heard a couple of people say this.Is it true that Charmin toilet roll can block your toilet?
in can but it definitely will block up a septic system. Been there several timesIs it true that Charmin toilet roll can block your toilet?
It really depends more on how much you put in the toilet, not what brand you use. I would be safe in saying if you put a roll of any toilet paper in the toilet, it would stop it up.
I have never had a problem with it.
didnt know this
That's like asking if you flush a bath towel, will it clog. TP is TP, if you use enough at one time, its all possible.
It used to, but they made it less thick and now it doesnt.

  • Is it true that twins can feel each others physical pain?

I have heard lots of stories about twins being able to feel each others pain. For instance, if one twin cuts their hand the other will feel it too. I was just wondering if there was any scientific reason for this or if it is just a really weird coincidence. Any answers given will be appreciated! Is it true that twins can feel each others physical pain?

xIs it true that twins can feel each others physical pain?
thats NOT true! i have an ';identical'; twin %26amp; our perosnalities are different, same with our interests. i dont feel sympathy for her problems nor vise-versa. i even know another set of identicals that are different

even twins, have different genes. impossible to be exactly the same

    we're separate persons, not duplicates
Hey I am a twin and yes some would say we are identical but others say we are non identical. My mother says we are non identical but have similarities

I would say I cannot feel her pain when she gets injured alot but when we were younger. if she cut herslf I would find I would get a similar cut some days later by accident of course. My mum was always in Accident and Emmergency.
well.. i dont reli know 2bh but i dont believe they do because even though they are twins, there are no 2 people in this world that are alike...

I don understand how yu can feel sum1's physical pain when yu are unique...If it's tru that they do, they that's totally weird..

Is it true that used coffee grinds are good for the pipes in your house?

Does it depend on the type of pipes you have, the type of coffee, or the climate? Wouldn't coffee grinds clog your pipes? Is it true that used coffee grinds are good for the pipes in your house?
As long as you don't have a garbage disposal it's fine. Coffee grounds act like sand in a disposal, will ruin it.Is it true that used coffee grinds are good for the pipes in your house?
I've heard of coffee grounds for composting but not for pipes. It wouldn't hurt if a small amount got in the pipes but it would cause a clog if you put alot down the drain.
Yep...plumbers love coffee grinds. They stick to the goo inside your pipes and plug it up or slow down the draining. If you want to use them for something....spread them out over your lawn or put them in your garden.

Is it true that Electrical Engineering major has to devote a lot of time to study?

Is it true that Electrical Engineering major has to devote a lot of time to study? Do a lot of technical stuff instead of enjoying the fun of it? Which one is spent more time on, calculation or hands-on building? Does the planning part also occupy more?

Really want to know more about electrical engineering. Want to know what electrical engineers do both in general and in specific. Is it true that Electrical Engineering major has to devote a lot of time to study?
ALL majors require a lot of study.

that is the definition of ';going to school';.Is it true that Electrical Engineering major has to devote a lot of time to study?
Yes, electrical and every other type of engineering requires a lot of study. If you want to have more fun time, major in psychology or sociology.

The bottom line is that engineering requires a lot of work. Electrical engineers are involved in many things from electricity generation to basic research on quantum computing. There are too many areas to list.

The upside of engineering is that it pays well for people who have a talent for mathematics and science.
Yes, you do have to study alot.

What you consider to be fun is a personal perspective. I enjoyed both the abstract and hands-on portions of my education.

You spend more time on calculations, but it will give you a better understanding of what you are building. Anyone can put together a circuit that is published in an applications note, but it is more fun to design it yourself.

I am a EE, and I spend most of my time programming microprocessors, FPGAs and designing electronic systems.

Also, in deference to what the retired engineer said, engineering does NOT pay very well compared to the other professions (doctor, lawyers, etc). If you want to compare yourself to the average joe-sixpack, you will look well paid. Do the math and see how engineering salaries have been stagnant/declining in real-dollar terms. You can thank offshoring and H1-B visas for that.
Electrical Engineering is almost the same as studying the other fields of engineering. But the thing is, you are dealing with a natural phenomena that is not visible to our naked eye. I am talking about electricity. Electricity is a mysterious behavior of nature. Isn't it a wonderful and exciting thing to study and to analyze and prove the existence of this phenomena? Try not to worry about the time and effort you're gonna use in taking up this course, besides all things about electrical engineering is quite fun to study with!
Yes, my good friend spent a lot of his time in college studying. It is very technical. It's easily 60%+ calculation. If you want to do more hands on engineering, look at mechanical.

My friend works at Cisco managing networks for clients. You can do a lot of different things from chip fabrication to sales.

Check here for more info on what is really out there: http://engineering.careerbuilder.com/jobseeker/jobs/jobresults.aspx?argv0=ElectricalEngineering.htm%26amp;ArgURL=/en.ic/ElectricalEngineering.htm%3Fsc_cmp1%3DJS_Sub_JT_EN%26IPath%3DOCP%26lr%3Dcbengnet%26amp;cbRecursionCnt=1%26amp;cbsid=a71204e76dca4beba6765dc898669118-297536042-w0-6%26amp;ns_siteid=ns_us_g_electrical_engineerin_
The technology majors do more hands-on stuff (and make less money in the long run). If making less money isn't a deal breaker for you, look into engineering technology degrees. Otherwise, be prepared to devote insane amounts of time toward studying and doing homework in ANY engineering major.
Well in any major would require you to study. But that doesn't mean u have to sacrifice your fun. In-fact if you like subjects like physics , mathematics etc. You will enjoy the learning. You can be into some really cool stuff like robot building, and some project work. You get the most pleasure in putting your ideas to test and see it work.

Well you need to be both at calculation and hands on building and it is your preference to decide which one you will do more but you just cant neglect anyone.after all no work is possible without calculation and calculation useless if not implemented.all engineers do plan a lot and it is also fun.If you get the basics right you wont fell the major that hard.

Electrical engineers work in power sectors and industries. Some also work in computers, electronics and stuff.

they are mostly involved in planning, organizing, maintainanence and responsible for operations of various units they work on.The upside is that you get paid well and there is always a demand for electrical engineers in the market.

and the schedule is not that hectic as people say.I do robotics(its really fun),programming and all other extra stuff in my school but still have plenty of time left.i go to the beach on weekends, party with friends, go to theaters and hang around with friends. But yes I can say that with some majors you get a lot of free time.

To get a clearer picture I would suggest you to visit a industry and talk to an electrical engineer.

Is it true that ancient celtic Pagans were a matriarchal society?

We've mostly lived in patriarchal societies where women are either ';protected';, dominated, or oppressed, but I have heard that before Jud-eo/Christian worship came about, that a lot of the ancient pagan religions actually revered women and respected them because they were the vessel of life. I heard this from someone, or read it. Is it true?Is it true that ancient celtic Pagans were a matriarchal society?
No they were not. There were some pagan cultures that were matriarchal, but not the Celts. Is it true that ancient celtic Pagans were a matriarchal society?
No, not matriarchal, but in some cases matrilineal (where descent was reckoned through the female.) This was particularly common in the picts and in ancient wales. A chief's nephew would inherit rather than his son.

Celtic women were a lot luckier than many however and were able to rule, hold land, divorce.

Besides the matriarchy thing, it is also a common fallacy that the celts worshipped some great peaceful earth mother,to the exclusion of almost all other gods. This came more from fantasy writing of the 80's, such as 'Mists of Avalon', than reality. the celts worshipped many gods and goddesses, with some of the most eminent goddesses being terrible war goddesses. The celts themselves were not fluffy bunnies--they were head hunters who enjoyed the fight, who hung the skulls of their enemies from the rafters of their houses, and who sacrificed humans in bogs and put foundation burials under ramparts and in grain-pits.

No, they weren't matriarchal but women were valued as creators of life, sure. In many of the European cultures women had a decent amount of rights compared to other parts of the world. They had a say and they had protection. Not that it was all roses and gumdrops, but they weren't too bad off. Women held a decent amount of power.
I suspect that whoever told you this is operating under the myth of the matriarchal prehistory. It's a popular myth in certain circles.

The short answer is basically no. While it is true that the ancient Celts treated their women fairly - women often had a choice in marriage, owned land, there were female leaders, etc. - they were not a matriarchal society.
The Celts were a very diverse group of tribal peoples. Each of these tribe would have their own set of customs. Some may have been matriarchal. Most were not.

It is more accurate to say the the Celtic society, on the whole, was much more gender-equitable than the neighboring cultures they interacted with. In particular, Greek (and by inheritance, Roman and Christian) culture thought Celtic gender relations were VERRRRY strange.
Egalitarian (not matriarchal) societies and Goddess worship

were in fact typical throughout late-Neolithic Europe and the

    Middle East.

What are true period colors for a cape cod house?

I am buying a cape cod house and want to paint it to look like an orginal. Any ideas? What are true period colors for a cape cod house?
In the 17th century most houses were not painted. In new England they would be covered with cedar shingles or clapboards and allowed to weather and turn gray. If you want a classic look for your cape, Cabot makes several shades of gray stain, cape cod gray, driftwood gray, dune gray, etc. Pick one of them for the siding and paint the trim white and your house will have a look I think you will like. I like Cabot ProVT stain for the siding and Cabot Finish for the trim. Do the doors in a nice blue, check Benjamin Moore's historical colors, and your house will look really sharp. What are true period colors for a cape cod house?
    I suggest you that for

Is it true that mosquitoes tend to bite some more then others?

I always get bit more then my friends, so is it true that mosquitoes tend to bite some more then others? Is it true that mosquitoes tend to bite some more then others?
yes, they like the way they smell betterIs it true that mosquitoes tend to bite some more then others?
    Adult Mosquitoes:

The adult mosquito is entirely terrestrial and is capable of flying long distances. Both females and males feed on nectars which they use for energy. Males and females mate during the first 3 to 5 days after they have emerged. Females mate only once. Males generally live for only a week. Only the females feed on blood, which is what is occurring when they are biting. Females evidently gain little nourishment from blood meals but need them in order to develop eggs. Many mosquitoes feed on any warm-blooded bird or mammal. However, some prefer cold-blooded animals. Some species also prefer birds and seldom feed on mammals, which is the case with Culex spp. mosquitoes which are known to transmit the West Nile virus (WNV). Unfortunately many species feed on a wide range of warm-blooded mammals and humans are often attacked. Once a female has completely engorged she flies to a shaded environment until her eggs are completely developed, usually 3 to 5 days. Once the eggs are developed the female is called a gravid female and she begins to search for a desirable place to lay her eggs. If a female survives her egg laying activities, she will very soon start searching for another blood meal after which she will lay another batch of eggs. She does not need to mate a second time. Generally a female will only live long enough to lay 1 to 3 batches of eggs.

Most mosquito species are actively searching for a blood meal in the evening hours from just before dark until 2 to 3 hours after dark. During the daytime the females normally rest in cooler vegetated areas where the humidity is higher and they are protected from drying out. Females will often bite in the daytime if humans or animals invade the wooded areas where they are resting. However, Aedes albopictus is an aggressive biter which prefers to feed during the daylight hours and is often a nuisance in urban areas.

    diseases:

Very few mosquitoes in Oklahoma are able to transmit diseases. Of the 60 plus species present in Oklahoma, only 7 to 10 species are considered medically important because of their pest status to people. Disease transmission by mosquitoes is complex, and being bitten by a mosquito does not mean an individual will develop an illness. If a mosquito-borne disease is detected in Oklahoma the mosquito species transmitting the disease must be identified. Control measures targeting the biology and behavior of that particular species are then implemented to reduce pest populations and prevent further disease transmission.
They are indeed drawn to bright colors, whites, hot pinks, bright yellow etc. and yes all are drawn to sweet fragrances so it's best not to wear perfumes when out doors where they are present. The newest studies have found that mosquitoes are drawn to Pheromones in people...just like people themselves. Higher levels exuded in some are what draws the insect to one person in a crowd more than others...has nothing to do with gender. That's why some people can use Listerine and it's an effective deterrent...it mask the scent. It's the same with ants, you can spray vinegar around when ants are searching for food, they communicate through Pheromones so when that ability has been altered, they become confused and go somewhere else in search of dinner. It's mostly in the smell, but color will draw them.
    yeah its true.

some ppl have sweeter blonde and mosquitoes can sense it.

if i were you i would play a mean little trick on your friends. mix water and sugar in a bottle and tell you friends that its repeliant.... its just started to leak out of the other bottle so you cracked open and put it in this bottle then they will use it and the mosqitoes will go to them. because you will have put the REAL stuff on
    yes that is true,

    1. they bite people who smell the best to their liking

    2. they can tell what blood type you are and they like some blood types over others. depends on the mosquitoes

    3. if a female mosq. just layed eggs she goes and bites the first animal(or person) that they see and that could be you...
Some people who wear deodorant, after-shave and cologne are more prone to bites. Also, people who sweat more are targets for bites. There are some new repellents on the market that work very well. Try to avoid early evening time and early morning when the little blood suckers are out and about.

Remember, they do carry diseases that can be serious to people.
Yes it is true...everyone has different effects with them...Ex.:

Your cloths may smell like dryer sheets, you may have a lot of Vitamin B-1 in you, or maybe your by certain plant's

So you could try carrying a dryer sheet in your pocket, or put on Off, or take B-1 Vitemens
Mosquitos are drawn to darker colors, so if you wear darker clothing you are probably more likely to get bit.

Mosquitos are also drawn to specific scents, so it could be the shampoo you use or the perfume you wear.
If you take one Vitamin B-1 pill in the morning, the mosquitos will not bite you all day. At children's camps we give the kids B-1 and it really works.
yes i think its true cuz the same thing happens to me to. and wen i ask ppl y they say bcuz i have sweet blood. yuk lol
yeaaa, depends on your skin, and if they like your smell.

    try not wearing any perfumee.
yea but only females bite the others have the children
It is true but nobody really knows why.
I hear if you have just eaten a banana, or wear light blue clothing you get bit more
it depends on what is on your skin...some mosquitos like sticky skin.
they like some smells better than others
    i believe so
    well ya

They just have no way to bite anyone. Someone once told me this and I find it hard to believe. Is it true that granddaddy long-leg spiders are the most venomous in the world?
Yes it's just too hard to believe - you're right this is NOT TRUE.

What's even harder to believe is that so many people keep believing this urban legend. It shows you how hypnotized we all all.

http://spiders.ucr.edu/daddylonglegs.htm鈥?/a>Is it true that granddaddy long-leg spiders are the most venomous in the world?
They are not venomous at all. There are many that are, such as the Brown Recluse.
I don't know if they can bite but they're not venomous. At least that's what I've always been told.
They can actually bite, they just usually choose not to or are unable to get a ';good grip'; They are not deadly to humans and do not cause much pain or reaction when biting.

This myth was busted on Mythbusters....
Yes, they are the most venoumous spider, but their mouths are too small to acutally bite or penetrate human skin. If they bit you, you would die within minutes.
It is true, they are one of the most deadly spiders, but their fangs are not long enough to penetrate human skin.

Is it true that the Federal Budget increases automatically every year NO MATTER WHAT?

If this is true, what is the automatice percentage rate increase each year and how can we ever reduce the size of Government? Is it true that the Federal Budget increases automatically every year NO MATTER WHAT?
No it's not true, but considering we are in a state of constant inflation (it's still small rate of inflation, but it's still inflation), it's natural that prices/costs go up every year, so it's natural that the federal budget would go up every year.Is it true that the Federal Budget increases automatically every year NO MATTER WHAT?
Not automatically, no. Budgets have to get passed by Congress every year.
There's not an automatic increase in the budget itself every year, but a large part of the budget is various entitlements that DO increase automatically with inflation, so it would be highly unlikely there would ever be a year without an increase in the total budget.
No. It is not true. Congress votes each year on what size the budget will be. If Congress does not decide on a size, not only does it not automatically increase, it automatically decreases to almost zero, because no money can be spent except for a few things that are required by law (including, unfortunately, Congress's salaries).
It is not automatic, but it is largely inevitable, both because of inflation and because ';we'; are always asking the government to do more for us, which of course costs more.

Did you ever hear of a constituent asking his Congressman to please provide less education, roads, parks, police and fire protection, etc?
We cannot reduce the size of gov't. Think of our country as highly inefficient for example as of May 06' 1 penny cost about 1.2 cents to manufacture.

No both signers will get equal credit either good or bad depending on how the payments are made.

NO - YOUR payment actions will affect BOTH of your credit histories - if you fall behind in payments or stop paying - both of you will get whacked credit score wise and they will come after your co-signer for payment, who will in turn come after you for blood
not true, the co-signor will be responsible if and only if you default on the loan nothing more,
Not true. Both credit histories will be affected IF the lender reports on both.

Is it true that subjecting bones to stress helps them grow stronger?

I've heard that jumping is good for your legs, because the stress causes tiny fractures to occur which grow back stronger. I've also heard that light impacts on the fingers obtained during boxercise help keep the bones etc strong. Is this true?Is it true that subjecting bones to stress helps them grow stronger?
Bone is continually remodeled through out its life. The rates differ for the type and position of bone: e.g. the ends of long bones are completely remodeled (broken down and replaced) every four months but certain positions in the shaft of the femur will not be replace during an entire life time.

Remodeling may be increased by several factors: exercise being one which will increase it, also damaged bone is replaced by new and here if the stress is increased then the new growth is denser and so stronger.; further more the actual shape of the bone will change to accommodate a continual stress in a more efficient mechanical manner.

Astronauts who do not experience gravity i.e. no stress lose bone mass.Is it true that subjecting bones to stress helps them grow stronger?
One martial art style involves training by striking the shins repeatedly with sticks in order to build up bone mass so that the legs can be used as powerful smashing weapons and to gain an advantage over other fighters who are not used to opponents being physically prepared in this manner.

One of the problems faced by NASA was that in zero gravity, bone mass depletes, and that even with rigorous exercises every day, astronauts' skeletons become fragile over time. The Russian space program which had their cosmonauts in space for much longer periods than their American counterparts gained a lot of practical experience in this area. I'm not sure if any truly viable solution was ever found, though.

Whatever the case, the human body is well equipped to adapt itself to repeated stresses of certain types. However, other parts of the body, (such as teeth which cannot re-grow mass), this is not the case.
I don't know if ';stress'; has any effect on bone strength, but any exercise, including walking, helps strengthen bones.
yes but its not good to do the same impacts over and over because the bone will grow strong on one side and weak on the other

Is it true that you can keep algae eaters in a swimming pool safely?

I have heard people keep them in swimming pools (with no chemicals of course) and they basically keep the pool clean and stuck off dead skin of humans swimming in it. Is this true that you can do it? Are there other fish you could include in the pool? Links would be great! Is it true that you can keep algae eaters in a swimming pool safely?
You could if there's no chemicals...but most algae eaters live in tropical waters and you would have to use multiple heaters to heat the tnak, which would cost alot.

~ZTMIs it true that you can keep algae eaters in a swimming pool safely?
There is a reason that chemicals are used in swimming pool. It keeps things sanitary. To each their own, but I think if you had a pool like that any pool parties you would have would be a bust.
no it isn't true heres a link....

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=鈥?/a>
Ummm...so what is killing the bacteria in the pool if you don't have chemicals?? not to mention that you would have to clean up the algae eaters fish poop all the time. Have you ever had to clean the bottom of a fish tank? I think if you would really rather have fish than chemicals, you need a pond instead of a pool. Not to mention the fact that the fish would get sucked into your skimmer and clog up the filters and die. That wouldn't be very good for your pool or the fish.
do you wanna swim in fish poop

Is it true that military officers can pull out their pistol and shoot insubordinate troops?

I heard that if you are a captain or colonel or something, and some private is misbehaving, you can take out your pistol and kill him. Is this true?Is it true that military officers can pull out their pistol and shoot insubordinate troops?
nope, not today. U can report him for court martial If necessary .. that's it.

but .. If this become at enemy territory , middle of something .. like under the live fire .. who knows?

Did u hear this term ';friendly fire'; ?? .. accidents can happen some times.

Let me explain that way .. when a combat start our guys never retreat without a clear order .. because If they keep deal with enemy maybe they can survive from that situation or maybe not .. but If they try to run .. they will shoot by a NCO ( not a officer ) without hesitation .. absolutely .. and they know that well.

And If a NCO blow up his ( a coward ) brain no one blames him for that .. a deserter doesn't deserve respect from others ; but file will close with a cover label .. MIA , KIA etc. for keep his families pride up.

edit : @ jopalucas : Simply B.S .. When we ';catch'; a sleepy beauty we will beat em , hardly ( yes, legal ) .. after enoughly beat they will never, ever sleep when guard something.

But blow his head for sleep? Isn't true ..why we do that? Extravagance Isn't accepteable at our Army ..

I'd said B.S for your story .. I know Isn't true ; because I serve Bosnia too ( ~ 2 year ) .. podrazumeti drugarica ? biti zdrav. Is it true that military officers can pull out their pistol and shoot insubordinate troops?
Nope they can't its even against all military protocol for an NCO to hit a private, they can beast them, run them ragged but they cannot lift their hand to a recruit unless its self defense. I can't remember the dudes name but he was a former Russian special ops airborne colonel and later became a well known Russian politician. One time he was in charge of regular airborne troops and some raw recruits were getting physically abused by the senior staff LT and upwards, once this colonel got wind of what was going on he lined up all his officers and one by one he clocked each officer squarely in the jaw knocking each one out. In the states its an automatic confinement to the stockade for even pointing an unloaded weapon at a private. So no, an officer cannot pull his weapon out and shoot an insubordinate for dissent even in wartime.
I know for a fact that Turkish officers have this ability. We had a Turkish Officer take out his pistol and unload it in the head of Turkish enlisted soldier for sleeping on watch. Didnt even wake him up first. This was in Bosnia, under the peacekeeping mission. Nothing was done about it, because Turkish officers have a quota of how many enlisted they can kill depending on the officer's rank.

If Turkey can do it, there are plenty more countries that are even more backwards that would probably find it acceptable.
No. He will be charged with murder. Insubordination is normally dealt with by the CO of the Unit, and may result in a fine or CB (confined to barracks). A Second offence may result in a spell in a military prison,a much larger fine,or a long period of CB,normally 28 days. It will also be reflected in the annual report which all soldiers are subject to,and may delay promotion ...In a battle situation, things are different. If the soldier becomes an immediate threat to the safety of the Unit, likely to result in the death of one or more soldiers of his/her own side he/she may be shot,if no other means of disablement is available, but only if the shot does not further compromise the safety of the Unit. An example would be breaking cover after being told not to do so,within close range of the enemy. The more usual option,if the soldier cannot otherwise be subdued, is an injection of a drug which will lay him/her out cold for several hours, and possibly evacuation from the battleground as a security measure. A report will be made of any action taken, and will be sent with despatches. A disiplinary hearing could be by court marshall and will result in much harsher punishment than insubordination within unit lines at home, and possible discharge with ignominy from the Army, which could make further employment difficult.Ignominy means really, really bad.
Certainly not true these days old chap, it took place in the first world war.

The last British officer to shoot one of his men, a tribal irregular was in South Yemen in the 1960's. Troops these days are too well disciplined and it doesn't look good in the papers.
    Probably.

There are lots of things that are not legally changed, even though they are irrelevant or obviously not aloud.

    Two examples are;

taxi`s must carry a bail of hay by law. From when they were horse-drawn.

It is still legal to shoot a Welsh-man on the green in Hereford on a Sunday. As long as you use a bow %26amp; arrow.
Not in the US and now, not in most countries. This was made famous by the Red Army (Russia) in WWII. Fleeing was a crime punishable by death. That is what made the famous quote: It took more courage for Russians to retreat than to move forward.
no...that is murder. if a person is threatening your (or an innocent persons) life, limb, or eyesight... then if you are legally allowed to carry a weapon you can shoot them to prevent the commission of, or stop, a crime.

Technically no. It does state you can't even slap a soldier, look at what happen to General G. S. Patton when he did it. You have to put them under arrest.
Yes, this is true. There are consequences however. The officer that fired the weapon will likely be tried for murder and sentenced to life without parole.
seriously think about your question, where is cold blooded murder legal? no where that's where so obviously the answer is No it's not true.
not in the US Military, maby back in Nazi Germany or in North Korea you can, but not here
not true... first of all because those insubordinate troops have rights also, and by doing that they violate them... so if an officer does that it is called murder...
No but you can exercise them to death.
of course it is but no officers dare do that since they know the rest of the enlisted troops would tear the officers apart.
    Bang!

I had to shoot Private ZUME, he asked such a silly question.

    Captain Pegasus
    You can not be serious.....

What country are you talking about here?

Back in my day i shot over 3 insubordinate troops for burning down my house and killing my dog
No, it is not true. It is murder.
    This is entertaining.
NO WAY, its murder and you can go on court marshall and get kicked out the army or jail for murder. where did you hear this
    a popular urban myth!
yea its 100% true if you live the 20's

Is it true that rabbits, if socialized properly, can be very friendly and playful than even cats?

Why is it important to socialize a rabbit(pet it, hold it, etc), and not just feed and clen up after it?Is it true that rabbits, if socialized properly, can be very friendly and playful than even cats?
Rabbits are social by nature. I would suggest getting your rabbit used to being pet and being around you. Holding it however...most rabbit are afraid of having their feet off of the ground, so I wouldn't push it.

Rabbits are smarter than you would think. Both of mine come to their names, play with toys (toss them) and come looking for attention. If I took the time, I know they could learn tricks.

Rabbits, as I said above, are social like we are. In the wild they live in groups, and are never alone. How happy would you be if you got three meals a day and a clean room, but no interaction with anyone?

Rabbits need interaction too for their mental and ultimately physical well being.

Enjoy your rabbit! Is it true that rabbits, if socialized properly, can be very friendly and playful than even cats?
I have known rabbits that are very friendly, yes you can socialize them to trust humans and be used to being handled, and they can be very playful, not necessarily with you, but around you.

    RRRR
i just bought another bunny today! mine actually don't claw or scratch by default..they're not like trained or anything. well, they do a little, if they're scared. but most are really docile. I don't think that they can be more playful than cats. i love cats though! But be careful about bunnies, make sure they're used to you. holding them will keep them from going wild. I made the mistake of letting one of them go into my backyard for like two weeks. He really liked it, but I tried to get him back and he wouldn't come. I guess he forgot who I was. We had to like get a net and stuff to catch him! When we did, I held him, and he bit me. Before that he was really nice. So always hold and pet and feed them.
I have two rabbits that are 4 months old. One is female and the other male and when I first got them they were really scared. So far I've had them for 1 month and they've improved so much.

You have to do more than just feed/clean up after them, where's the fun in having a pet when you do nothing fun for them or with them?

Start out slow with them, spend maybe about 20 mins at a time daily and slowly increase. I usually spend about 1-2 hrs a day with my bunnies but that includes cleaning time too. Now when I come inside their little house (we built a 4 by 5ft house outside for them) they seem to be lots happier immediately. The female always comes up to me and licks me... the male does too but not as often. One day I had to go to school a little earlier than usual and didn't go out to meet them till noon. My mom said the male wouldn't move and just layed like a puppy does when he's sad with his face to the side. As soon as I walked in there when I got home he seemed to be more energized and that day he licked my hand a lot. They get used to you after a while and even come to miss you.

It's true that they don't like to be held but it's mostly bc ppl don't know how to pick them up. Make sure you scoop them and none of their legs are hanging in the air since this scares them and their reaction is to kick and get away to ground safety, also never pick them up from their hide or ears.

In the past I had cats but I find lots more joy in my bunnies now... I even bought a bunny harness and take them out on walks but we haven't quite mastered that step yet since they are afraid of cars and other animals. Also if your bunny doesn't want to do something then don't force it upon him as he will only come to detest that activity even more.

One of my bunnies likes to bathe in water while the other one absolutely would not go near it... I slowly made him more comfortable and now he stays in there for a couple mins. (Bunnies do not need to be bathed often if ever, I do to mine bc they spend their time outside and also bc one really likes it!)

    Good Luck!

P.S. I forgot to mention that you can buy bunny nail clippers to avoid getting scratched too much... but please make sure you know how to use them safely, you can even ask a vet to show you how it should be done... if you have your bunny outside like mine I would recommend not to clip his/her nails since it is their form of protection against other animals.
yes,,,but it depends on the breed and temperment,,,Holland lops are great PET bunnies, But u have to let the rabbit learn to be cuddly,,bring it in the house and let it hop around for 10 minutes a day getting it used to people,,or put its cage in the house,,,and let it hear you all day,get it used to voices
Yes Very true.. all you have to do is bond with it, done make it do stuff it dosnt want to do, like pick it up, then every time it sees you it will be all like OH NOOOO!! HERE COMES THE THING THAT PICKS ME UP!!! RUN!!! lol, feed it healty treats and stay in site when its eatinhg it, then it will say HEY HERE COMES THE PERSON WHO FEEDS ME YUMMYS YAY!!! and it will like you and will be freindly, babay rabbits are really playful too, all animals play to bulid strengh so it will like jumping and running around
umm, the rabbit canot be trained to do that, but the cat can however. teach the cat that the rabbit is a member of the family and dont let him attack the rabbit. i had a rabbit and cat before. after i trained the cat, he showed no interest in the rabbit. they probly wont be friends sorry to say.
Yes, they can be very playful. If socialized correctly they will even offer to dance with you. They will do this by running around you in circles. Then its your turn, pull off some moves.
Yes. Hoserabbits especially can be very affectionate and interactive.

Also, how would you like to live in a small world where you didnt receive any personal contact? Every living thing thrives on love =)

Is it true that the Obama administration suggested that American families should be limited to 2 children?

Was this said by Barack himself or someone in his Administration? Isn't that what Communist China does, limit families to one child? Is this Administration for real?Is it true that the Obama administration suggested that American families should be limited to 2 children?
The science czar thinks that we should have forced population control. He also believes that trees should have the right to sue humans and that euthanasia is acceptable to combat the global warming.

    http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/ar鈥?/a>

http://zombietime.com/john_holdren/Is it true that the Obama administration suggested that American families should be limited to 2 children?
I think you know better than that...but it would solve the overpopulation crisis, the unemployment numbers, and help families that cannot afford to live already (yet bring another life into the family poverty equation).

With 2 children, you can still create a happy family and sustain life. Why would you need more than 2 children anyway? If you have too much money left at the end of the week, you could give it to your church on Sunday or better yet adopt a child whose parents have died or abandoned them.

Now doesn't that sound like a noble, practical alternative?
He may have suggested it, but it's an old idea. There was a movement in the US, somewhere around the middle '60s that suggested the same thing, although it's been around in other countries for longer than that. It was called zero population growth. That means you only procreate to replace yourself. It's not a bad idea, if it's a matter of choice. I have 2 children.
He should have directed it towards his own color kind. I never see blacks running to adopt a white child but I see tons of whites not only adopting black children, but they go out of their way to feed the black children in Africa. I have yet to see Black volunteers unless they make billions like phony Opera. No politician speaks at one race, they try to talk in general terms to make it appears as if they are not speaking directly at you. But you should know who you are, breeding like rats for the rest of the world to feed and house
Whether or not he said it, its none of his business. Its not the government's business or even ours. Everyone should, and still does, have the right to produce as many offspring as they are both willing and able to do. If someone doesn't like the effect, then instead of crying about the 'overpopulation' try fixing some of the problems instead of trying to control other people.
If you're here wasting our time reading your ridiculous questions, who's running the crap factory? I have to say, though, I do get a chuckle each day from you tea party cons- each day brings something even more stupid than the day before. Guess you guys just can't set the bar too low, huh?
Whether he said it or not, it's a good idea. Almost every problem humans create is made worse by over population. Why people need more than 2 children is beyond me. Why not just have 2 children (voluntary) and give them the best lives parents can?
Well, did you mean 1 or 2? I haven't heard anything about it.

Are you saying Obama is communist, I thought the going trend was socialist? You only split your base when you divide it.
He should not be saying this to those that take care of their families..but to those on welfare and having illegitimate babies that suck off society!

but hey..you libs want government in your lives......you want health care bill which is ALL ABOUT GOVERNMENT CONTROLLING YOUR LIFE!
Not sure, but a suggestion is quite different from what China does.

And if you are so against China, have you shopped buying products from them...like at Walmart? Or do you just talk big but not really follow through?
    No, it is not true.

Obama did not say it, and to ask if the administration said it implies they all said it.
It wasn't Obama himself, just one of the people he hired. Might as well be, though. They're completely monolithic in their ideology.
True. It was said by one of Obama's communist appointees. I believe it was Cass Sunstein or John Holdren but I'm not sure. The quote was shown on the Glenn Beck show.
I see you have no source, so apparently you're just a pathetic lying troll.
I don't think Obama or his administration said anything like that.
    wouldn't surprise me
GOD, I love Hope and Change.

Maybe that's why liberals want gay marriage, population control.
Wow. This is about as ridiculous and fight evoking as statements come on here.
    No.
they should limit people who cant afford to have kids yes, those who collect welfare.
    No. No it isn't.
I have not ever heard that one .
One of his czars did suggest it.
    You should write a book called, ';How to create a rumor without even trying.';
If he hasn't said this, he will. He is trying to become the Supreme Ruler of the United Soviet States of America.
I don't think he said such a thing (not that it would surprise me)

  • Is it true that you can make oatmeal a week in advance and keep it good in the fridge?

    Hi,

I would like to make oatmeal, but it takes sooo long. I have some time right now to make some for the week. How do I make steel cut oats and keep them good for a week?Is it true that you can make oatmeal a week in advance and keep it good in the fridge?
Quick cooking oatmeal takes 2 minutes to cook in the microwave.

Maybe you should try it.Is it true that you can make oatmeal a week in advance and keep it good in the fridge?
Well I'm surew you could but why would you want to? It would just get to thick and yucky for my taste. It's only takes a few minutes and there are a lot fo microwave packets as well. I think oatmeal is best served fresh cooked.
f you've always wanted to try cooking up a pot of steel-cut oats but have been put off by the stories you've heard (takes hours! hard as gravel! blecch!), go ahead and give this recipe a try.

    Things You鈥檒l Need:

    * 2 tablespoons butter

    * 1 cup steel-cut oats

    * 3 cups boiling water

    * 1 cup milk (can use skim)

    Step 1:

Melt butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Add oats to butter and stir for 2 minutes, until lightly toasted.

    Step 2:

Carefully add 3 cups boiling water to oats in saucepan. Stir and reduce heat to simmer. Simmer gently for 25 minutes, stirring once or twice.

    Step 3:

Stir 1 cup milk into oatmeal. Continue to cook for another 8 to 10 minutes, or until most of the milk has been absorbed. Stir once or twice during this time to make sure oatmeal is not sticking to the bottom of the pot.

    Step 4:

Remove oatmeal from heat. Cover and let stand for 2 minutes.

    Step 5:

Leftovers will keep in the fridge for up to three days. To reheat, stir in a little milk and heat on high in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring midway through.
Contrary to the other answers, I will say you probably can. I know that you can do this with grits. With grits, I cook them and let them cool to room temperature. They become too thick when they are cool. I them add more liquid stirring as I do until they are the consistency I like them when I eat them. Then I put them in a tupperware container and store in the refrigerator and microwave them as needed. I would suggest that you try it the same way. Good Luck--let me know how it turns out.

that the reason some religions dont allow members to drink alcohol, they are afraid of what comes out of a drunk person
No, drunks talk nonsense and their judgement is seriously impaired.
yes its possible and then mostly wont even remeber if u did or didnt
It is for me...when I'm drunk I lose my inhibitions. That's why I don't get drunk anymore.
I'm positive. I've seen my husband totally wasted and he is disgustingly honest. Luckily he's large enough to get away with it most of the time.
no, you dont say your true feelings, but you do speak without thinking.
I believe when a person is drunk...they have not one care as to what they say. Most know exactly what they are saying.
The alcohol in your system releases you inhibitions and allows you to say what you're feeling at the time.
no, you just lose you inhibitions so you say what you have been wanting to say, doesn't mean it's true
I can't speak for everyone but, yes it's true for me. When I'm truly drunk I'm painfully honest! I hate it. I've lost a friend over that and about cause a fight between two others. I'm very good at keeping secrets and biting my tongue most of the time but the very few times that I let myself get carried away with alcohol I don't know when or how to keep my big mouth shut. I'm so bad that couple of times I stayed home from parties is there might be person that I can't talk to
Not that being drunk is an excuse, but yes, people are prone to excessive truth when they are drunk.

Is true they are building a new version of the Boeing 747 Jet?

747-400 is going to be a newer and longer version to compete with the new Airbus double decker? Is true they are building a new version of the Boeing 747 Jet?
Yes Boeing is building two new versions of the 747, the 747-8F and the 747-8i. No Boeing is not considering building a full double decker, at least for now. The 8 series 747 is the 3rd generation of the aircraft, and will be the last. Boeing might consider building a true double decker out of composites sometime after 2020 or once the market matures for a VLA(like the A380). Boeing might have the advantage is that case since Airbus will just make an next generation of the A380, while Boeing has a clean sheet design, make of composites.

The 747-8 will be 250' 8'; in length in both the freighter and the passenger version. Although Emirates was interested in the smaller 747-8i that Boeing had orginally offered. I wouldn't be suprised if Boeing offered both sizes esp. if Emirates orders 20 frames. Emirates already ordered 10 frames of the freighter. Boeing will do anything realistically possible to please Emirates. Once they take dellivery on all of their Boeing 777's they will be the worlds largest operator of the type with around 85 frames. Emirates has on order with Airbus 45 A380's. Nothing would make Boeing happier than to sell more Boeings to Emirates with a cancelation on some of the A380's. So far only FedEx has canceled is A380's and switched the the Boeing 777.Is true they are building a new version of the Boeing 747 Jet?
Yes they are going o build a boeing 747 called the 747-800 it is going to come out in the late 2008 and it will begiven to customers every where in 2009 it will have more room then the 747-400 and Boeing is taking out the boeing 787 that will be smaller but really good.

    You should try::

    www.boeing.com
there are rumors that Boeing is going to build a boeing 747-800. which is longer and has a little more room thean the 747-400 but it will not be as big as the Airbus A380
well yes they are!! they are upgrading the 747-400 to 747-800! it won't be as big as the A380 but, it would be more spacious!!!
Yea they are building the 747 - 800 which is more better compared to the 747 in service today. i have also heard rumors about the 747 double deck.not sure about that one.
Yes they are seriously considering it
yes, they are upgrading the 747, but I don't think it's as big as the airbus.
There were rumors of a larger upper deck 747 to compete with Air Bus.......i think the A8380. I think Boing decided not to because there wasn't a big enough market for it. GaS prices rising etc. BUT It was only a Rumour to begin with. It would be nice to have some us building of planes here in house for jobs for us good ole usa! rumors in the areospace industry -- a lot of people talk of the next job, and always hope for that.

BUT== who knows, wouldn't be great? boost our economy!

For true cat lovers only: How much would you pay for a cat sitter?

For those of you who are devoted cat owners, would you pay someone that is professional, insured and bonded, to visit your cat daily while you are away on vacation? What would you expect from the cat sitter and what would you consider a reasonable rate? For true cat lovers only: How much would you pay for a cat sitter?
it depends what the cat sitter does. For someone who just visits everyday to feed and clean the litterbox, I would pay maybe $15-$20 a day.

But I would want the cat sitter to

-feed and give water to my cat

    -clean the litterbox

-groom (brushing twice a day and clipping claws once every 2 weeks and changing the rubber nail cap things)

-play with my cat 20-30 minutes a day

-clean my kitty's bed (like getting the hair off and stuff)

-and sweeping any litter that may have gotten out of the box

for this kind of service I'd pay $50-$65 a day (and I have)

it really depends on the person though. For true cat lovers only: How much would you pay for a cat sitter?
Right now I pay 15 dollars a night for a sitter to scoop the litter box and feed and water my two cats. I consider this a bargain because it's cheaper than boarding them, and they're much happier staying at home than going to the kennel while I'm gone.
Me, I let my neighbors take care of them :)

    No payment necessary :)
i am a pet sitter. when i visit once a day, i charge 15.00 that is a one hour visit. besides the cat and or dog duties, i water plants bring in the mail and papers, set the water in the garden, etc. i am in a very rural area. if i visit twice a day it's 25.00 and full time (overnight) is 50.00 a nite. during spring and summer I'm very busy!!
I would expect the person to come in the mid-morning and early evening to feed and play with my cat, scoop their litter and make sure there is no accidents around the house or any problems with my cats. I would say that for a week of this sort of service, $150 is reasonable!
I adore my cats, but have found that boarding them at the Vets is the best bet. If something goes wrong they have all the help needed. I've left them for 2 weeks and gotten a special rate.
Yes, I would pay for this service. I used to own my own pet sitting business and I would be paid $15.00 per visit. People with cats usually only had me come once daily..dogs got 2 visits per day. For cats I would feed, water, scoop cat litter and play with them. Also would bring in mail, newspapers, and turn lights on and off. Dogs pretty much got the same, but would also include a walk or visit to the local dog park.
I am lucky in that I have a neighbor who likes my cats, my cats like her %26amp; she is willing to visit them daily if we ever go out of town.

I am sure that there are very good pet sitters out there, but my cats can be a bit shy %26amp; I prefer someone that I know personally have access to my house.
hmm I cant really remember what I paid..

also I do know that most pet sitters also offer security..

most home insurances wont cover you if you are away for more than 72 hours without somebody checking your home... as such its important even if you dont have pets...

I think I paid PER VISIT.. not per day.. but how much it was.. I honestly dont remember..
I'm not sure that insurance or bonds are worth as much as customer testimonials with full names and addresses.
it doesnt take a genius to feed a cat and clean up after it...

    maybe 5-8$ a day.
try to get a teen or an older child you know, usually someone that is professional will just visit the cat, feed it etc. A child will do that plus probably give it attention and play with it at a lower pay than a professional
The vet techs at the vet clinic we use are pet sitters. They do medication if needed and will stop in as many times as you need them to.

We had one come twice a day to give insulin to two of our cats, clean the box and spend 20 minutes there, and it cost $20 a day. I found that most sitters average $25 a day so we got a deal.
I would just take my cats to the vet and board them because I don't like weird people in my house, but that's just me. I would expect the sitter to come in, check on the cat, make sure it has food and water, scoop the litterbox, talk to the cat for no more than 15 minutes and get the heck out. I would do it if I had to leave them home and had no other choice, my main concern would be that no one broke into my house and murdered my cats, so it will be good to have someone coming by at any rate. I have no idea what the going rate is but I would not pay more than $50/week
If you are going for less than a week, a cat is fine alone. Be sure you put out the right amount of food and water and clean litter box, and then he will take care of himself. We did this for 12 years with our cats, with no problems. In fact, the one time we hired a daughter to come over to take care of the cat, she never did. We came home a day early, and found she had never visited the cat. Grr. We did leave for two weeks once, and had the neighbor look in on Tigger and she would not accept any money. We took her and husband out to eat at a local restaurant.

If you aren't comfortable leaving him alone, then $5.00 a day if it is a teenager in the area, or someone close by. If they have to drive to your home, a little more. Remember, this isn't for a full day's work, at the most it is for ten-15 minutes. And it is more of a littercleaning/feeding, rather than entertaining the cat for a day. Cats like solitude, so don't think the cat will sit and be played with...he might like to have someone in the house to be able to ignore them, but not to have them playing and walking them. Cats are different than dogs, of course, so their needs aren't as great. You could never leave a dog alone, because they are more social, and would tear something up to show how mad they are at you for leaving them alone. Cats will purr because you trusted them to take care of themselves. Aren't cats wonderful, and delightful, and so independent!! Have fun on vacation.
Well, you would expect your demands to be met!

A professional yes, if you feel you should spend money like that on your cat. if s/he has special needs, be sure you tell them to the sitter, thoroughly explain. if you just want her/him to be kept well, make sure that they know exactly what you expect.

    have fun on your vacation!
I wouldn't spend much more than what i would spend with a boarder. Maybe 50 to 75 a day depending on what they do with my cat. Are they just feeding and cleaning the litter box or they actually spending time with the cat (playtime, brushing, cuddling) How would you know they are spending time with the cat. One time i just let a good friend stay at my house for a week to watch my cat. I gave them 100 bucks and filled the house with some food that they liked. You have to have a good friend that you know and trust.

Hey don't pay money to get info on legit work at home opportunities. Work at home/telecomuting opportunities along with tips, advice and articles are enlisted on http://www.workathomedesk.com No upfront fees is required. All opportunities are enlisted categorically. Good Luck !
Please please please...THINK for ONE second.

If a 'work at home' place was legit, why would they make you pay a fee?

    They are ALL SCAMS!

    SCAMS!!
Anyone that asks you for money up front is a scam
They all take some money from you as ';Joining Fee'; or ';Entry Fee'; and vanish. Some of them ask your Credit Card No.If you give you are doomed for ever.If you make your own website and E -sale or marketing you can make money. It requires initial investment.

As regards some surveys, they dont keep promise.Nearly 2 years I had responded to Nielson survey ,not a single penny in return.
Don't do it, i looked into doing some work from home from the internet, i put in my e-mail address and now i have hundreds of spam mails!
keep away from them, i have known people who have done various work from home jobs, however none of them ever benefited, some aren't scams, but do require a certain quality.
I was in your shoes and looking for work at home jobs but would agree with what everyone else is saying...NEVER PAY AN UPFRONT FEE. There is tons of money to be made online and from the company that they should not charge you to start working for them. An example would be a job that you apply for would not ask you to pay them money before...so always keep that in mind. I have listed my site where you can make money at home with just a few clicks a day. Please check them out as they are free and will get you money!!

    http://agebul.blogspot.com/

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!
Whatever you do - DON'T give them your credit card information. Anything that wants you to pay them a ';one time fee'; is a scam and they will take you to the bank (Literally.) Sorry, but unfortunately there aren't any work-from-home jobs that aren't scams. (At least I have yet to find or see one.)

Can true humility cause someone to be obnoxious toward those who they perceive as not being humble enough?

I think it is not correct if we make the habit of measuring every thing, every episode, every one, by our own limited human standards, knowledge, impressions and believes.

We should judge from universal standards of values and from righteous ideals of an equally universal norms of vision. Can true humility cause someone to be obnoxious toward those who they perceive as not being humble enough?
True humility comes from patience. Without patience, one can just profess to be humble but not in maintaining it.

A trait which is consistent for a period of a time will become a norm for that person and it is well perceived by others, for which patience is required. Can true humility cause someone to be obnoxious toward those who they perceive as not being humble enough?
Judging others is not a humble characteristic
    It's called spiritual narcissism

  • In this World, COLOR control everything........Is it True? How true is TRUE in LIFE?

This can be true. Colour or color (depending on where you originate) is used to advertise and draw one persons attention to one place rather than another. Such as red lips on a person in a black and white photograph. The lips will draw your attention. There is a brain puzzle that has words of colours (such as red blue etc..) in another colour than the colour the word is describing (red will be printed in the colour blue). One man who is colourblind created a device that measures the sound frequency let off by certain colours. Without colour the world would be alot more difficult to get around. Even for people who are colourblind the different shades allow the person to coordinate themselves to a light shade of grey is a yellow or light green etc. and a dark black shade is a brown ar navy blue. HOWEVER colour DOESNT CONTROL THINGS THAT ARE MECHANICAL... it just helps bring emphasis to a certain place on a map or advertisement. In this World, COLOR control everything........Is it True? How true is TRUE in LIFE?
the first question: not necessarily true, unless you define color in a novel way to include all perceptions.

';Truth'; as Dumbledorr said, is a terrible and a beautiful thing; it is dangerous to play with it. to the Jain philosophers, nothing can be asserted of ';truth';; they use the story of the blind men attempting to describe the elephant as an example. to each, within his limit, what he perceives is true; to none, outside his limits, anything that any other describes is true.In this World, COLOR control everything........Is it True? How true is TRUE in LIFE?
...Okay, in this world colour controls everything?

What do you mean by ';colour';?

Like coloured races, or colour as in red, blue, green, etc?

    How true in life?

I say you reword this question, it's not very clear, and doesn't make much sense...
hmm well think of this world in black and white just really stop and think red stop green go red hearts love black hearts sad the world needs it and how true is true in life?? sorry i dont get it =]

well true love is different for everyone but from my experience true love is not being able to stop thinking about someone. it's is being able to get through rough times with your partner, becoming stronger as a couple after having the worst of arguments (true love isn't pretty all the time). its being so comfortable with them that you can talk about taking a shiet and not thinking they're disgusting (haha). it's missing them incredibly when they're away for a long time but having the willingness to wait for them to come back for you. it's being able to adapt to changes in your relationship and making plans for each others future to be together with the intention of truly keeping those plans. it's accepting a person for who they really are and still being in love with them even while knowing their imperfections. it's wanting to always be by their side no matter what happens and no matter what comes across your relationship. and it's actually being scared to lose that person in any sort of way because it would truly, deeply hurt you to see yourself without them

true love can bring out the worst of feelings yet it brings out the best you could ever feel and it's something that you will never want to live without once you find it
Love that brings freedom is the only true love. Love that creates bondage is not love at all; it is something else parading as love. That's what is happening all over the world: people in love feel in chains, subtle chains, golden chains, but chains are chains -- whether they are made of gold or steel it makes no difference. Sometimes the golden chains are far more difficult to get out of than the steel chains, because with golden chains you become attached because the golden chains look like ornaments. Because they are golden a clinging arises.

In the name of love people are living in golden chains. Their houses have become prisons. Their love life is not truly a love life; it is just the opposite of love. It is hatred, it is jealousy, it is possessiveness; it is anger, rage, conflict; it is the whole power politics. Because it is not true love it is bound to be an ego trip. And wherever there are two egos, conflict is bound to arise, so all lovers are continuously quarreling; quarreling becomes their occupation.

True love means giving freedom to the other so that the other is allowed her or his own space. Not to interfere in the other's being -- that's what love is. It is a delicate phenomenon. To give and yet not to interfere needs great sensitivity, needs very artful hands, because the moment we give, we immediately start possessing. We start demanding, we start hoping for something in return.

True love simply gives and never demands anything in return. Much comes in return, but that is another story; love has nothing to do with it. When it comes love is thankful; if it does not come there is no complaint. True love can never be frustrated; it is impossible to frustrate true love because if nothing comes in return, then too love is happy. It is happy because it has been allowed to share its joy. It is grateful because the other has allowed himself to be flowing, to be sharing. And if something comes in return, that is a reward... unexpected, undemanded -- hence that too has tremendous beauty.

U know u have found true love when all you want to do is be with that person. You don't want anyone else and you know you want to spend forever with her. True love is not about finding the perfect person. Its about seeing an imperfect person as perfect. You also don't have to see her every single day. You know your love is strong and you trust her with all your heart. Absence between the 2 of you will make your love grow stronger, instead of making you drift apart. Thats true love. All you ask for is her happiness.Thats true love.

i haven't found true love yet, but i'm still waiting. 鈾?hope you find your true love soon. peace.
True love comes only from the heart and you will know when you realise you know the colour of their eyes. Their favourite type of food, the way they smell. When every thought is of them before you go to sleep and at the same time your excited because you cant wait to wake up just to see them again.
Well when you can look at a girl and think ';Damn I love her.'; When you think about her from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep. When you think about her and get a feeling in your stomach. You don't think about sex with her because you don't need it when you have her. And when she's sad, you'd do anything to make her smile because you feel just as sad. I think that is love.
When you would be willing to sacrifice everything, and your partner would do the same, that is true love.
Ithink you just kinda know... it's just sort of a mutual feeling...

    Idk

Uhm you can't really define it

    cause its different for everyone

    but... Hm

    Idrk good question
Its caring for someone more than yourself. It gives an example in the bible. I just can not remember where in the bible its located. It might be in ecclesiastics.
I think that everybody is feeling it differently

i even cant find the words to describe it..

    u just...know it...

How can you be true to others and true to yourself?!!?

ANswer this pls,...How can you be true to others and true to yourself?!!?
You can be true to others only in the context of your concept of your own morality. How can you be true to others and true to yourself?!!?
Sometimes you can't,in those situations, you must decide who is more important ;yourself or others.

True or False: putting a tooth in milk after it falls out of your mouth preserves it?

I've heard this mentioned in a health class I took as factual, but then I watched a show called Mission Hill with the same situation, and it was expressed as an old Wives' tale. Is this factual or false?

Thanks.True or False: putting a tooth in milk after it falls out of your mouth preserves it?
Teeth are preserved whether you put them in something or not. Think of how archeologists find skeletons of ancient animals or even people and their teeth are still in tact.

I would say it's false because of lactose, which is sugar.. Sugar rots teeth. My brother actually got cavities because he drank milk all the time and never brushed his teeth.

Interesting question thoughTrue or False: putting a tooth in milk after it falls out of your mouth preserves it?
Okay let me explain this as I know it.

If you have an avulsed tooth, the VERY BEST thing you can do is to just make sure it doesn't have like big clumps of dirt on it, rinse it in isotonic saline if it has obvious debris (same concentration of salt as your tissues, like a teaspoon in a glass of warm not hot water) and place it back in the socket it came out of. Really.

Sometimes, like if you broke some bone near the socket and it's not accessible, you may not be able to put it right back in. In this case you should hold it in your mouth so that it is at least exposed to saliva which is good to keep it alive.

Basically if you loose a tooth like that, it's kinda like taking care of a transplant organ, like those coolers with ';body part'; written on them, you know? :) You want to keep it alive untill you can reestablish blood supply to it.

Milk would not be the best thing to do at all. If for some reason you can't keep the tooth in your own saliva, you should use isotonic saline solution, not milk. Milk would contain lactose that would not be good for the tooth, and the balance of ions would be all wrong for body tissues so you would be either drying the tooth out or waterlogging it, I'm not sure.

It probably comes from the fact that milk is good to drink for your teeth, since it has calcium and mineralizing elements in it, and so someone thought that it would be good to sit a tooth in it, which it is actually not.

Remember, shove the tooth back in your mouth! you have a waaay higher chance of saving it if you shove it back in and get to a dentist ASAP!
its true.. they say that in the dentist commercials with the dinosaurs lol

    mine?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>
it's true. But not for long if it's not refrigerated.
True. my friend lost her tooth and she put it in milk. it was just fine :]

The saying Why do good girls like bad boys is it true cause if that's true?

is this saying the same bad girls like good boys. can you explain that to me both saying. I dont know if a second one a saying but it must be true also. The saying Why do good girls like bad boys is it true cause if that's true?
Well it's true to a certain extent. Yes some ';good girls'; do like some ';bad boys';, but it doesn't mean all ';good girls'; like ';bad boys';. It's just another stereotype based on some truth.

  • Can we all agree the christians believe the bible is true because they want it to be true?

And not because there is any historical evidence to support it's validity? Can we all agree the christians believe the bible is true because they want it to be true?
That is an excellent summation in regard to the facts in evidence. Can we all agree the christians believe the bible is true because they want it to be true?
Yes, That is called Faith, which is what you have if you are Christian. Compare it to how you believe in scientific theory...much of which is unproven factually, but pieced together in a way science THEORIZES something happens. So you have faith in scientist that their theories are correct, Christians have faith that their bible is correct, and so on. There is actually historical evidence that supports biblical stories, and evidence that does not. Much like science, some theories prove to be true, some that were thought to be fact are proved to be false. You just have your faith in something entirely different than Christians.
    Not even close.

There is a lot of historical evidence to support it's validity, through archaeology, and some non-biblical writings of the time.

Also, if you compare ancient sources, in terms of numbers of copies, and their ages, you will find that the Bible is, by a factor of about 1000, the best ancient source in existence.

You must also remember that the Bible is a compendium of books, not simply a book in itself. It contains all sorts of things, including songs, laws, histories, apocalypses, genealogies, wisdom sayings, parables, letters, love stories, myths, and, and .... The idea of ';truth'; depends a lot on what you mean by that. Did someone named Jesus exist about 2000 years ago? Yes - this is confirmed by these non-biblical sources I was talking about. Was there a real Good Samaritan? Likely not - this was a parable, a teaching story. The message is truth, but the details are not, and are not meant to be.
Jesus the human, and the Christ in the Bible are the same in many ways, yet very different. It's a paradox: Jesus the man was a Sage, a mystic, entrenched in the mysteries, the Nazarene, a philosopher king, Jesus or the Christ (personified divinity within all humanity) in the Bible is again attributed to the drama in the heavens, 12 apostles (Houses of the Zodiac) around the Son (Sun), Born on the 25th of December (winter Solstice) (Summer in reality of the Human Jesus), He was crucified (solar cross) and resurrected (in the spring), to bring redemption and new life. This is the same story repeated through out many of the worlds religions and not unique to the religion of Christianity alone. It is sun worship, and personification of creative spirit, i.e. God.

Christ is highly symbolic for Christianity, but most Christians are unaware of what and why the Church did certain things and why today things are the way they are. I highly doubt the Man, nay I know, the great teacher Jesus, one of the greatest teachers to ever live, would not approve of or wanted a religion modeled after him. He never claimed to be God, only a Son of God, through rebirth of philosophy, of consciousness, after all the religion known as Christianity had existed for many many years before the man known as Jesus appeared. Jesus spoke in parables and preached an exoteric message to the masses veiled in mystery and unfortunately taken literally, and another doctrine in private to those who could see and hear truth....

Look into the esoteric nature of things and not what is presented in mainstream in religion and philosophy alike and you will find many keys to the mysteries.
Many seem desperately want it be true, they have doubts, become very angry is anyone arouse their doubts, beliefs never affect reality however, regardless of how much they try ignore disproof, it not just disappear, is amazing how far apologists go, I see someone yesterday say skeptics can never find even one contradiction of Bible, more objective people list dozens of them, I cannot understand how anyone can blind himself at very obvious ignorance and contradictions of Bible.
Christians believe in the Bible because it is true and there is historical evidence to support its validity. Can we all agree that atheists believe that the Bible is not true because they don't want it to be true and not because there is any historical evidence to support their claims?
You will never understand a Christian belief unless you are a Christian. To a Christian the Bible is true. Every word of it. It is not a matter that a Christian wants it to be true. It is because the faith that we have that the Bible is true. And there is nothing anybody can say or do to alter that thought process.
I don't. The Bible and it's history is true whether I or any one else believe it or not.

For me as a believer I follow Jesus Christ's example of his reliance and belief in the God and the events written in the Old Testament. He believed in the historical truth and reality of those events written about them. In fact for him as with any one else. There were no other historical documents that summed up the best knowledge of time.

What I have never understood. Is why there is such a disparaging attitude amongst many today of people today. Who believe that ancient men were ignorant and stupid. That you cannot appreciate those who recorded knowledge and kept is safe and protected from harm and danger.

Sure much has been lost. If you really wanted to look at how men documented the historical events of their time and generation through time. This itself would be a fascinating study.

We have computers and online libraries today and can take or leave knowledge with the snap of our fingers. But in those ancient times. Think of the hours and sacrifice of the people who passed on knowledge from generation to generation. Even before the time of Jesus.

Even in historical times whether you choose to recognize it or not. People appreciated history and wrote it down. So that they do not forget.

But the cynicism and skepticism that is in man to hate the truth will seek to rewrite it so that the truth can never be found. Such are the people today that say the holocaust never happened. I am not of that group of people. The truth cuts both ways. But at least I know there is the truth.

I am sure and have complete confidence in the historical evidence and truth of the Bible. Just as Jesus did in his day about the Old Testament. Go to the Middle East and the cities and the peoples there. Go to their museums and their archaeological evidence in many museums all around the world with Biblical artifacts.

But I personally know the God of that Bible through Jesus Christ and His Spirit.

I hope this helps. If not. Oh well.
The book revealed on JESUS was GOSPEL but it is not available in its original form so you see many many socalled GOSPELS and 4 of them are included in bible which are not gospels but one can say the biography of JESUS narrated by his apostels, Gospel in its original form and language is not available so the authenticity of bible is a contoversial issue, for more info pls go to ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BRITANICA
No because they don't believe in all of it themselves. You will have a hard time finding any two Christians from the same faith agreeing on everything in the bible at the same time.
    Be careful. (Jude 1:18)

The BIBLE it the very WORD OF GOD.

    That's not man's opinion... it's God's. (Hebrews 4:12)

    ';LET GOD BE TRUE, but every man a liar';

    -Romans 3:4
How is there not historcal evidence of its truth? It is being proven historically accurate constantly. As well as even being scientifically accurate
yes I agree. two thousand years of conditioning will do that. it still does not make it true and align with real history as the rest of us understand it.
You can say whatever you want, remember not to confuse discussion and agreement.

Oh and thanks for keeping this short, those wall of words are horrible.
    We can. But they won't.

They will continue to believe those fairy tales even if it was proven right in their face it was false.

That's what brainwashing does to ya.
We can agree you believe that to be true because you want it to be true.
that sounds rather reasonable. I agree.
Can we all agree the atheists want the Bible to be false because they hate God and follow Satan instead?
Where does truth come for you? On what/whom do you base your truths on?
    Yes.
    Sure, why not?
    truth doesn't change
    that's part of it
The atheist says he needs proof, yet believes there is no God even though there is no proof that He does not or cannot exist. Go figure that one out.

Atheism is a convenient idea for those that want to believe it

What is the difference between believing something to be true in your heart and just wanting it to be true?

In response to one of my answers, the asker said that I didn't seem to understand the difference between the wisdom of the heart and emotional desire. Perhaps he was right. So could someone clue me in as to what the difference is? Is believing something in your heart the same as wanting it to be true? Seems so to me.What is the difference between believing something to be true in your heart and just wanting it to be true?
If you truly believe something to be true in your heart, you will feel calm and grounded about it. Conversely, if you are just wanting it to be true, you may feel unsure or anxious. This anxious feeling could be your natural instinct telling you that although you want it to be true, it really isn't. Listen to yourself, trust in those little 'butterflies' we get in our tummies. They will be your best guide. What is the difference between believing something to be true in your heart and just wanting it to be true?
Wanting, wishing and hoping are just that. These are inactive and uncreative states. Now, belief is usually based on knowledge.

You will have to examine each incidence in your experience.

I know, this is not a great answer, leaving you with your questioning. You would have to have a single example instead of this whole universe of possibilities. Example: Do you believe in God? The answer to that one is having faith, and that is sufficient.
i dont think there is any difference...things are true or not...
Well, I think the heart one is more like you accept it as fact. It would be irrefutable to you. However, wanting something to be true is only a desire where you know it's not true or could not be true.
There often isn't really much difference. Belief is often just wishful thinking.
There is a difference, but it is hard to express. I very much want there to be a slice of pie in my fridge, but I don't beleive there is becasue I know better. In the other direction, I beleive that I am broke, even though I really want to be wealthy.
From you Heart is to 'know'.

Wanting it to be true is from your 'ego'
