For Christianity, Satanism (which to them was the pagans) was worshiping any deity (which they considered the work of Satan). So paganism (worshiping other deities) IS prior to Christianity.





However the term Satanism was established afterwards.

';True'; Satanism (not to be confused with modern LeVayan type satanism) is a christian religion, where it's adherents choose to worship Satan in a form of inverse christian practice, and came about after christianity was established.





However christians often hold that anyone practicing any spiritual path other than their own is at the very least being duped by satan (which is why they will apply the term incorrectly to non-christian faiths).





Satanism, by it's very nature is not pagan, as it is a branch of christian religion.

True Satanism would mean the direct worship of Lucifer (Satan) himself, rather than the indirect worship of Satan through false religions, pagan idols, occult practises, atheism and materialism.
Satanism imho is really no different than Christianity. There have been ';horned gods'; before Christianity came about, but not all were ';bad'; horned gods. Satan himself is a Christian/Jewish/Etc. force that was made up...

No. God gave man {women} free will. Garden of Eden is the Luciferion rebellion that led to the fall of man when he turned his back on God and walked out of Eden, not thrown out. Original sin is when God cut off the intercommunication with the higher realms and man chose to suffer by being with Lucifer. {Satan} Satanism is following the path of Satan. Man suffers because of this.





That is free will at work by the way. God sends his chosen teachers to see if we want to walk with him but we have so far turned our backs to God time after time.

One way or another his existence on earth has been floating around since 3rd century bc (that's the first actual written mention of the name 'satan' that I know of but there might be some earlier). Heck if you believe in the texts and you want to get technical then fallen third of angels would be the First Satanists.


';Christianity'; would be ';followers of Christ'; The very concept of this did not -exist- until Jesus Christ popped up. As a religion it didn't start to take shape until Apostle Paul started running around getting in everyone's hair. That's near 4 centuries later.


The argument about 'worship of god' vs 'worship of satan' is a whoooole different question.


And don't you give me that Polytheism of Convenience excuse folks. (aka the divine trinity). If the worship of God was indeed exactly the same as Christianity then we wouldn't be having the Hanukkah vs Christmas media fights all December (while all the Romans just laugh at us ;_; ) .

you believe what you want but even Satan, truly known as God's angel, knows that his time is limitted therefore, he doesn't exist. God is beyond time, therefore He/She/It is the only thing that exists. So the question is where do you choose to spend your time??
