If i write T for True in a True or false test item, should i get penalised or not?

The instruction was to write TRUE or FALSE but im used to writing it short as T for TRUE and F for FAL:SE. If i write T for True in a True or false test item, should i get penalised or not?
Often when teachers require you to write out TRUE or FALSE, it's because it's easy for someone to change a T to an F after the fact. It's harder to do that with the entire word.

It seems a little harsh, but it's just another case of cheaters ruining things for the rest of us.If i write T for True in a True or false test item, should i get penalised or not?
Part of these tests is to see if you can follow directions. If your answers were not counted, it's because you failed to follow the instructions.

Seems picky, but this is how these things work.
It depends on the teacher's instructions.
